Leading Provider to Realize Communications Services in 5G Based on ECT’s Telecoms Low Code
Munich, November 21st 2022:

- The CSP, a major player in Eastern Europe and part of a large multinational telecoms group, launched a tender to replace their end-of-life legacy services, migrating to a state-of-the art, virtualized solution deployed as part of their new 5G network.

- Within a comprehensive tender ECT and its partner beat the competition, offering customized applications based on ECT’s Telecoms Low Code, a virtualized and geo-redundant platform architecture as well as the complete migration of the services from multiple legacy platforms.

- This multimillion-euro contract has an initial duration of three years and, instead of large upfront capital expenditures (CapEx), foresees variable monthly fees based on actual usage of the communications services.

ECT today announced that, together with a local partner, it has won a tender process and signed a multimillion-euro contract for the provision of telecoms services to one of the leading communications service providers (CSPs) in Eastern Europe. The CSP, part of a large multinational telecoms group, chose ECT to migrate their value-added services (VAS) portfolio to a state-of-the-art, virtualized solution deployed within their new 5G network.

"ECT presented the best offer, both technically and commercially," said Metin Sezer, ECT's Deputy CEO. "We are proud that this new ECT customer is entrusting us with the migration of their services to 5G, and we are ready to help them not only retain the existing customer base, but also acquire new customers through innovations and product individualization."

This new agreement encompasses both standard network services, e.g., number portability, as well as highly sophisticated business services, like mass calling/televoting. The contract has an initial duration of three years with the possibility of extension and a minimum value of several million euros based on variable monthly fees determined by actual usage.

With migrations, losing customers is the biggest concern for all CSPs, so a smooth, seamless transition from bare metal to the telco cloud as well as from 4G to 5G is a must. New service applications should also include those legacy features already popular with the existing customer base and allow for easy individualization and enhancement via low code. This is the expertise of ECT.

All the services provided by ECT will be virtualized, geo-redundant, and integrated into the 5G network of the CSP. They are expected to go live in 2024.
