LONDON, UK. 15th February 2024 – The remarkable achievements of care-experienced young people were celebrated at  BT Headquarters in London last week. The ceremony, which honoured 140 exceptional pupils, featured keynote speaker Jaz Ampaw-Farr, who herself spent her childhood in foster care, and delivered an inspiring address to the audience.

As a global motivational speaker, educator, TV presenter, comedian, and co-founder of Be Human First Ltd, Jaz Ampaw-Farr brought her unique perspective and transformative insights to the event, touching the hearts and minds of attendees from diverse backgrounds. Drawing from her own experiences as a care-experienced entrepreneur, Ampaw-Farr shared her journey of resilience, determination, and success, inspiring young people to overcome obstacles and embrace their full potential.

Reflecting on her involvement in the awards ceremony, Jaz Ampaw-Farr stated, “There are lots of reasons children end up in care, and absolutely none of them include the child being broken! As a three-time speaker of the year and sought-after transnational speaker, she continues to inspire audiences worldwide with her authenticity, humour, and unwavering commitment to empowering others.

Ampaw-Farr has shared the stage with Rachel de Souza, The Children’s Commissioner for England, at The House of Lords, Lemm Sissay, care-experienced poet at Westminister Central Hall and Kriss Akabusi, care-experienced Olympian Kriss Akabusi on several occasions.

In addition to her speaking engagements, Jaz Ampaw-Farr is the co-founder of Be Human First Ltd, where she works tirelessly to promote empathy, connection, and personal growth in individuals and organisations. Her forthcoming book, “Because Of You This Is Me,” slated for release in the summer, outlines the life-changing difference five teachers made in her life and offers profound insights and practical wisdom for navigating life’s challenges with courage and resilience.

Further adding to her legacy, Nosco Films has recently completed a documentary chronicling Jaz Ampaw-Farr’s childhood and her journey to success from foster care to acclaimed speaker.
