Fusion Connect with Capital Catalyses Investment into Space
LONDON, UK. 28th February, 2024 - Entrepreneurial Spark is thrilled to announce the next stage of its latest initiative in partnership with the UK Space Agency and Exotopic. Fusion Connect with Capital is a high-value investment completion programme aiming to accelerate promising Space entrepreneurs whilst also catalysing investment in the UK Space sector. The Fusion programme is achieving this by mobilising new investors into the UK Space sector through enlightening Investor Lounges and exclusive Demo Days in April and June.

Current Space Economy
Private investment into the Space sector is growing at a staggering 21% per year. This explosive growth is fuelling the emergence of a dynamic and pioneering start-up ecosystem. An ambitious new wave of companies is evolving the Space sector into one that is becoming increasingly commercially led. As a result, the industry is entering the era of ‘new Space’ where the commercial sector accounts for an outstanding 77% of the global Space market.

Why is Space the Final Frontier for Many Investors?
The Space sector is experiencing an exciting surge in private investment that is fuelling an emerging ecosystem of pioneering ventures. In the last twelve months alone, the Space sector has seen a promising 55% growth in seed investment. However, many factors are deterring new investors from entering the Space sector.

Although companies are valued highly, investing in Space comes with inherent and significant risks which can intimidate many new investors. Shifting regulations and the fluctuating reliability of launching objects into Space can cause potential investors to shy away from the numerous opportunities in the Space sector.

Modern life depends on a foundation of Space infrastructure. From using Google Maps to navigate a new city, to checking the weather, satellite data is intrinsically integrated into our lives. However, the Space sector is relatively opaque to many outsiders. There is surprisingly little awareness of Space initiatives and how these can benefit life on Earth. As a result, potential investors are unfamiliar with Space markets and can lack the confidence to invest.

Cultivating Confidence in the Space Economy
Fusion Connect with Capital is bringing the Space economy down to Earth through highly informative Investor Lounges. At each investor lounge, leading experts will deliver invaluable insights into the inner workings of the Space economy and share the current successes of leading Space companies. As a result, investors will gain essential knowledge to upskill and confidently invest in the Space sector.

Once investors are well acquainted with the Space sector, they will have the unique opportunity to meet Fusion’s outstanding cohort of thirteen Space entrepreneurs at two exclusive Demo Days. These dynamic entrepreneurs will have graduated from Fusion’s rigorous investment completion programme and will be ready to initiate deals. Alongside Space, their businesses extend across various sectors, including health and fitness, AI, and monitoring. The Demo Days will provide investors with exclusive access to some of the most promising early-stage companies in the UK Space sector.

Investor Lounges and Demo Days
Fusion Connect with Capital is hosting two Investor Lounges on the 21st of March and 18th of April. During these live events, our experts will cover the UK Space ecosystem. They will provide specific insights on where start-ups are forming around the country and how academia and government support and engage the sector.

Investors are then exclusively invited to attend our two Demo Days on 30th April (London) and 12th June (Leeds) where some of the most exciting start-ups in the UK Space sector will pitch their businesses.

If you wish to get involved, find out more about the programme and our events here.
