Wandsworth, London, UK. April 20th, 2026 – Wandsworth, London – /04/26 – Award-winning video production company BearJam has announced a new partnership with Nature Impact to fund UK nature restoration through every AI-driven production project it delivers.
Launched to coincide with Earth Day 2026, the partnership will see 1% of every AI production budget directly spent on nature restoration projects in England.
Built into BearJam’s pricing from today, the contribution applies to all AI-driven work, including generative video, AI-assisted visual effects, and compute-intensive production processes.
BearJam is believed to be the first video production company in the UK to link AI production directly to biodiversity action.
As demand for AI video increases for BearJam, the environmental impact of energy-intensive data centres and compute infrastructure is becoming an important consideration.
James Hilditch, Founder and Creative Director at BearJam, said, “Generative video is powered by data centres that consume vast amounts of energy, placing increasing pressure on the planet. We believe it’s our responsibility to take ownership of the resources we use and act in a meaningful way. Whether it’s climate change, nature, biodiversity loss, or pollution and waste, we all have a role to play in addressing the environmental challenges of tomorrow.”
The new partnership turns that environmental impact into a direct, measurable contribution to biodiversity every time AI tools are used.
James Hilditch said, “Rather than relying on generic carbon offsetting, we wanted to invest in something tangible, local, and long-term, something you can actually visit and see with your own eyes. Nature Impact’s work gives us exactly that.”
Nature Impact is establishing nature recovery projects across Southern England, transforming underproductive land into biodiverse ecosystems, including wildflower meadows, native woodland, restored hedgerows, and connected wildlife corridors.
Nature Impact projects are delivered under the UK’s Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) framework, independently monitored and verified, and secured for nature in perpetuity.
Tom Nelson, Co-Founder of Nature Impact, said: “Our nature credits are underpinned by a UK-regulated framework, independently verified, and backed by serious science, so buyers can be confident their contribution is driving measurable environmental change. BearJam understands something that more businesses are beginning to grasp: nature isn’t separate from our economy; it is the foundation of it. Nature-related risks are projected to reduce UK GDP by as much as 12%, a figure larger than the economic hit from either the financial crisis or COVID-19. We are delighted to be partnering with BearJam and their clients as they take this step towards nature recovery close to home.”
The Nature Impact contribution is included as a transparent line item within BearJam’s project pricing, ensuring clients can clearly see how their work contributes to environmental restoration without impacting delivery or output.
Looking forward, BearJam will publish an annual impact report outlining total contributions, supported projects, and measurable outcomes, reinforcing its commitment to accountability and long-term environmental impact.
“Nothing changes for our clients; they’ll still get the same, high-quality content, but actually, they’ll also have the knowledge that they’ve helped fund the restoration of UK habitats, and that, for us, is something to be proud of. This industry is moving fast, and the tools we have access to are extraordinary. The least we can do is make sure the land beneath our feet benefits too.” – James Hilditch.
