Discovering The UK’s Top Online Christmas Shoppers: Which UK Region Receives The Most Online Deliveries at Christmas Time?
LANCASHIRE, UK. December 15th, 2023 – With the festive season well and truly underway, Davpack – the UK’s favourite packaging supplier – has been on a mission to discover the country’s top online Christmas shoppers.
Are you the Santa Claus of online shopping, making your lists and checking them twice? Or do you prefer to hit the high street in person? Either way, the sturdy and robust cardboard boxes are an important component of ensuring your gifts arrive safely on Christmas morning, perfectly packaged and ready to delight.
But where in the UK are people prepared to shop ‘til the Wifi drops? Davpack recently conducted a survey of over 600 people to identify where the UK’s biggest online Christmas shoppers are based and found that people based in the following UK regions place the most online orders over the festive period.
Data suggests that residents of the East of England are the most active online shoppers, leading the charge in the UK’s online shopping scene with an average of 30 online orders placed in the build-up to Christmas. This data not only showcases a clear shift towards digital convenience but also positions the East of England as the top region for online shopping in the UK.
Contrastingly, the picture changes as we move down South. The data suggests that those living in the South East are less keen on purchasing gifts online, with an average of 15 online orders placed throughout the festive season. While this is still a significant number, it’s exactly half of what we see in the East of England!
The most striking data, however, comes from the country’s capital. In London, it appears that Christmas shoppers still prefer to hit the high street, with Londoners placing the fewest online orders – an average of 14 per person during the Christmas period.
Survey Data:
