The initiative supported several local foodbanks, including Chelmsford Foodbank and Colchester Foodbank, both part of the Trussell Trust network, helping families facing increased pressure during the festive period.
“Thank you to Oakheart for their incredibly generous donation of over 120kg. This support is a huge help and will enable us to feed families well into the New Year.” Said Joanne, Volunteer at Chelmsford Foodbank
The campaign invited people to drop off essential items at their local Oakheart branch, supporting individuals and families facing increased need over the festive period.
Donations were collected and delivered in the lead-up to Christmas, with strong support from communities around Oakheart’s branch network. As a result, Oakheart helped provide food and other essentials to households across the region at a time when demand for local Foodbanks remains high.
Support was provided to the following organisations:
- Chelmsford Foodbank (Chelmsford, part of the Trussell Trust)
- Colchester Foodbank (Colchester, part of the Trussell Trust)
- The Porch Pantry (Mersea)
- Storehouse Foodbank (Sudbury)
- Gatehouse Foodbank (Bury St Edmunds)
- Find Ipswich (Ipswich)
The initiative reflects Oakheart’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities through action alongside its core business. Oakheart plans to continue building partnerships with local charities and community groups through the Oakheart Foundation as part of its wider social value work across Essex and Suffolk.
