MANCHESTER, UK. February 12th, 2026The Morson Group has completed two acquisitions that will enable the company to significantly grow its interests in the energy sector while supporting the capacity, skills and rapid scaling urgently required for the UK’s energy resilience.

Grosvenor Power Group (GPG), the UK’s leading Tier 2 HV power transmission and distribution grid integration business, and Aurora Power Consulting Ltd, a leading independent power systems analysis consultancy, have both been acquired by Morson Group in two separate deals. The acquisitions form part of a cohesive strategy by Morson to scale the group’s capabilities across the energy infrastructure delivery chain. Both businesses will sit within Morson Praxis, Morson Group’s technical consultancy business, with support and integration across Morson Vital, the group’s skilled workforce deployment business, and Morson Nexus, the group’s training division.

Ged Mason OBE, Executive Chairman of Morson Group said: “We are delighted to welcome GPG and Aurora Power Consulting to the Morson Group with both organisations bringing a huge wealth of expertise into our business.

“There is an urgent need to increase capacity in the Tier 2 energy infrastructure supply chain as the UK’s Tier 1 transmissions suppliers deliver a once-in-a-generation upgrade across the UK’s transmission and distribution network. The success of this critical programme demands not just expertise, but skills, scalability and integration across the delivery chain, from engineering and design through to boots on the ground installation. With complimentary capabilities across Morson Praxis, Morson Vital, Morson Edge and Morson Nexus, our acquisition of GPG and Aurora Power Consulting is not only a significant step forward in our energy sector ambitions but also a milestone for the energy industry and the UK’s energy resilience.”

A major high voltage (HV) installation firm providing scale in construction and commissioning, GPG operates across three divisions – power, transformers and oil services. With 40 years’ experience, it provides a complete installation, maintenance, modification and repair service for high-voltage power systems and associated equipment from 33kV to 400kV, including AIS, GIS, offshore wind connections and converter substations. The company’s acquisition by Morson Group will enable it to continue to operate independently, while adding the ability to scale, increase capacity and develop future skills pipelines as part of a larger group.

A network planning and power quality consultancy, Aurora Power Consulting will complement the specialist engineering consultancy businesses within the Morson Praxis portfolio and strengthen the company’s FEED and compliance services for the energy infrastructure sector. Aurora Power Consulting provides a range of power systems modelling and analysis services, and brings an extremely experienced team to Morson Praxis, with expertise that encompasses grid code compliance, harmonic and fault-level analysis, and support for some of the UK’s most complex transmission and renewable integration projects.

Both newly acquired Morson Group companies will continue to operate with their existing team and leadership, serving their existing Tier 1 energy sector clients with the added resources and strategic focus of the Morson Group.

Mark Stephen, Managing Director of GPG, said: “Joining the Morson family enables us to secure long-term growth, invest in the next generation of engineering talent, and strengthen our position in a rapidly evolving market. Our teams are excited to work alongside Morson Praxis, Morson Vital and Morson Nexus to enhance our delivery capacity and develop new capabilities.”

Steve Sommerville, Managing Director of Aurora, added: “We’re delighted to be joining the Morson Group, which will allow us to deepen the technical quality of what we do, while gaining the scale and support needed to meet growing demand. We remain committed to our clients and team, but now with enhanced capability and long-term stability.”

Morson Group has recently undergone a major business transformation, consolidating multiple legacy companies into four strategic units – Morson Edge, Morson Praxis, Morson Vital and Morson Nexus. These two acquisitions enable Morson Praxis to offer an end-to-end Tier 2 solution for energy infrastructure upgrade programmes as the UK tackles the challenges of enhancing resilience, increasing energy capacity to meet growing demand, and integrating renewables into the HV network.

A key element of this capability is the continued development of new talent. Grosvenor already supports apprentices within its business, and it is the clear intention to expand this further helping to grow and sustain the wider talent pool as demand accelerates. In addition, Morson Nexus will deliver Ofqual-recognised training and apprenticeships for wiremen, fitters, and HV engineers, and leverage GPG’s facilities to deliver hands-on HV rig training, SQEP support, and mobile units. This will ensure a sustainable model for GPG that will allow Morson Group to support the upstream delivery chain as the programme to upgrade the UK’s energy infrastructure gathers pace.

Chris Burke, CEO of Morson Praxis said: “The UK is entering a period of monumental change in how electricity is generated, moved, and consumed, and that is driving a sharp and sustained increase in demand across the transmission and distribution network. The talented Grosvenor and Aurora teams bring a wealth of valuable expertise and experience in the energy sector, strengthening the Morson Group’s ability to support critical national infrastructure programmes and our Tier 1 partners with the right people, skills and delivery capability as they respond at pace.”
