Taunton, UK. January 21st 2026 – PADDOX, a brand new website designed to help horse riders find competitions and events more speedily, has now launched and its users are already delighted at how easy it’s making planning outings with their horses.
UK horse riders know the pain of searching multiple websites to find equestrian competitions, rallies and lessons but the new service is giving riders a much-needed shortcut with a comprehensive database of event listings, collected from all the major booking platforms.
PADDOX technology trawls the web every day looking for new equestrian events and brings them into one search page, categorised by discipline, date and location, so users can immediately see every upcoming listing of interest, regardless of which booking site it’s on.
Research conducted by PADDOX over the past year has revealed how much benefit a unified search can bring, even for riders who only visit one venue. Last year 85 riding centres around the UK hosted events which were listed on at least two different booking sites, and some venues made use of as many as five.
For those who look further afield it’s worse: to keep informed about everything within a whole postcode area, such as TA around Taunton, riders will need to check as many as eleven separate directories, each with their own different search pages. Instead, with PADDOX, all these listings appear on one, comprehensive results page.
During development and testing PADDOX indexed 85,000 separate listings in 2025 alone and is on track to add many more than that in 2026. Users can even opt in to receive automated, individual emails as soon as interesting local events are listed or updated. Changes in venue, date or title are logged and sent out daily in personalised messages to interested subscribers.
About PADDOX
PADDOX is the brainchild of Harriet Pappenheim, a keen, lifelong horse-lover based in Somerset with a passion for getting youngsters in the saddle. Frustrated by all the time spent looking for riding events for her daughter she enlisted the help of her software developer husband to build a search engine just for riders.
“It’s been a huge help for our users so far,” Harriet says. “Unless you have the time to trawl through multiple booking platforms regularly, it’s easy to miss events. As the majority of equestrians are time poor but keen to keep track of competitions & fun activities, PADDOX’s email alerts are a real game changer.”
The PADDOX database usually has between 5,000 and 14,000 upcoming listings, including competitions, rallies, training sessions, arena hires and more, at any one time. The website is free to try out at https://www.paddox.net
