LONDON, UK. February 19th, 2026 – An experienced lawyer is helping burgeoning fitness businesses get in shape for a healthy future.
Raihan Islam, founder of start-up support specialist High-Velocity X, is using his expertise to help new fitness and wellness coaches put the foundations in place to build a better relationship with clients.
Raihan, who trained with global law firm Fieldfisher – whose clients have included household names such as Amazon – is offering advice and guidance on developing terms and conditions for new ventures, laying out exactly what expectations and obligations business and client have to each other.
He works with businesses to ensure the end result is tailor-made to fit each start-up’s individual needs.
Getting the basics right can save a lot of hassle and heartbreak further down the line, as even a small number of disputes can drag entrepreneurs away from the areas they need to be focussed on in those critical early days.
“When you are running your business, you want to get a lot of sales – but what happens when you get those lots of sales and you are expected to deliver the results and then just one person says ‘Did I sign up for that?’
“You might have dozens of clients to worry about but if you are dealing with just three or four simultaneous disputes and you don’t have a good way of resolving them, that can really bog down your whole business.
“Do you want to be spending your time on that or would you rather be spending your time on more sales, better customer service , better delivery, renewals and having a smooth sailing business?”
For Raihan, getting the terms and conditions right is about managing expectations between both sides and avoiding unexpected disputes.
The recent increase in on-line coaching communities, with people increasingly sharing ideas on-line, has also raised concerns over issues such as Intellectual Property (IP), which can also be addressed by clear terms and conditions under which items are posted.
Recent years have seen the rise of AI and many start-ups are tempted to cut costs and corners by relying on the likes of ChatGPT to generate contracts – but Raihan believes nothing can replace the human touch.
“The reason businesses work with me is because of how I look at risk, how I look at ‘what are those biggest concerns that the business owner has?’ The exercise I use with all of my clients is ‘Tell me your top five to ten worst fears that could happen in terms of this relationship – what are you worried about the most?’
“When they tell me their concerns, I can tailor the advice and the contractual language to not just their business sector but their specific concerns and I make sure I have cross-checked what I am advising with what is happening out there in the market.”
