Fruehauf on track for record year as market share soars

GRANTHAM, UK. July 11th, 2025 – Fruehauf’s position as the UK’s leading manufacturer of tipping trailers continues to strengthen, with the business achieving an impressive 39.4% share of newly registered tipping trailers in the first quarter of 2025. That’s almost treble the 14.3% market share recorded back in 2021.

These latest figures, based on UK trailer registrations, highlight the rapid growth Fruehauf has enjoyed in recent years, driven by significant investment, an unwavering commitment to quality and the trust of customers across the transport sector.

What’s more, the headline figure doesn’t tell the full story. When taking into account over 100 trailers sold into the South of Ireland during the past 12 months,  which fall outside the UK registration data,  Fruehauf’s market share edges closer to the 50% mark, cementing its position as the dominant force in the bulk tipping trailer market.

That success has been underpinned by long-standing relationships with some of the country’s most respected operators, including Bulmans Bulk, Openfield, Lomas Distribution, Wykes Engineering, Strawsons, 3R Solutions and Laws Transport, all of whom continue to specify Fruehauf trailers for their operations.

This year, the company is on course to sell close to 700 trailers, a clear demonstration of the strength of demand for its British-built, high-spec products.

Fruehauf’s ongoing growth is the result of targeted investment at its 67-acre Grantham site, where the company has modernised production lines, introduced state-of-the-art automated machinery and significantly expanded manufacturing capacity. This has allowed Fruehauf to meet rising demand, reduce lead times and deliver even greater consistency across its popular range of trailers.

The business has also continued to diversify, with 200 crane lorries and 50 drawbar trailers currently in build for parent company MV Commercial, alongside production of Fruehauf’s newly launched tipper Blower product, with 75 set to be delivered this year, primarily into the animal feed sector.

It’s a period of sustained growth that hasn’t gone unnoticed. Recent coverage in Commercial Motor shone a spotlight on Fruehauf’s modern manufacturing capabilities, its proud British engineering heritage, and the strong team driving the business forward.

While the market remains fiercely competitive, Fruehauf’s focus on quality, reliability and British manufacturing is proving to be a winning formula and with market share approaching 50%, the future has never looked brighter.
