CHESHIRE, UK. October 30th, 2025 – Cheshire-based artist and pattern designer Julia Campbell, Founder and Creative Director of The Silk Road Studio, has announced the launch of her latest collection, ‘The Secret Garden’, – an exclusive series of elegant, timeless surface patterns inspired by botanical forms, chinoiserie influences, and the beauty of organic art.
The release marks a defining moment in Campbell’s creative journey, as she continues to merge fine art sensibility with luxury design for discerning clients in the interiors, fashion, and lifestyle sectors.
Recognised internationally for her craftsmanship, Campbell’s work has been featured as Best Original Design by leading global design training platforms such as Immersion 2024. Her artistic journey spans decades of creative dedication – from studying at West Surrey College of Art & Design, Wisbech College and Nottingham Trent University, where she graduated with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Fashion Marketing with Communications, to a professional career that began under the mentorship of legendary Fashion Director Hilary Alexander at The Daily Telegraph.
Her professional path included work with renowned PR agencies such as Hammond PR in London’s Buckingham Gate, followed by roles in cultural communications at The Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge, where she promoted world-class exhibitions and deepened her understanding of audience connection and brand storytelling.
However, The Silk Road Studio’s story is one of resilience as much as artistry. After prioritising caring for family and putting her creative ambitions on hold for nearly 40 years, Campbell reignited her design career in 2017, returning to her artistic roots with renewed purpose. During lockdown, her intricate patterns gained attention as they were chosen for print-on-demand projects – including bespoke COVID mask designs that introduced her work to a global audience.
In 2024, Campbell’s talent was recognised on an international stage when she was selected as a top designer in Bonnie Christine’s global Immersion Course, standing out among more than a thousand entrants for her originality and craftsmanship. This recognition fuelled a bold new phase for The Silk Road Studio, with designs now being aimed at heritage-inspired interiors brands like House of Hackney and other luxury partners.
Her new collection reflects the culmination of this creative evolution – celebrating elegance, heritage, and quiet strength through layered textures, sophisticated colour palettes, and intricate motifs that blend traditional artistry with contemporary design.
“Everything I create tells a story,” Julia Campbell said. “My work is about more than decoration – it’s about emotion, memory, and the craftsmanship behind beauty. This collection captures the spirit of renewal and creative freedom that defines where I am now.”
The Silk Road Studio now offers private access to its portfolio and welcomes bespoke commissions from brands and individuals seeking distinctive, story-driven surface design.
Julia Campbell’s rise from behind-the-scenes PR executive to celebrated pattern designer exemplifies the artistry and resilience driving Britain’s independent design scene. Her journey – rooted in passion, lifelong learning, and perseverance – positions The Silk Road Studio as one of the UK’s most exciting names to watch in 2025.
