WEST YORKSHIRE, UK. October 3rd, 2025 – Newsome Ltd, a national provider of process cooling, air conditioning, Dehumidifiers, and temperature and humidity control systems, is proud to celebrate 40 years of continuous service for Dave Harker.
Dave, who is Newsome’s Strategic Projects Director, has played an instrumental role in shaping the business from a small local supplier into a trusted partner for manufacturers across the UK.
Dave began his career with Newsome on the shopfloor and quickly demonstrated the technical skills, determination, and leadership qualities that would define his time with the business. Over the years, he progressed through multiple roles, including sales, project management, and operations, before being appointed Managing Director. Today, he continues to contribute as Strategic Projects Director, where his experience and sector knowledge are invaluable in delivering large-scale, complex rental and sales projects.
Throughout his career, Dave has adapted to the changing needs of both the business and its customers. Under his leadership, Newsome has expanded into new markets, embraced emerging technologies, and strengthened its reputation for delivering reliable, efficient, and compliant solutions. His approach has been characterised by foresight and flexibility, allowing the company to evolve in line with the demands of modern industry.
Inside the company, Dave is often affectionately known as “Mr Newsome”. Over four decades, his influence has touched every part of the business, from launching new service lines and mentoring team members, to guiding long-term strategy and building enduring customer relationships. His commitment to excellence has helped Newsome earn the trust of leading manufacturers in sectors such as food and beverage, plastics, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
Despite his senior positions, Dave has always maintained a hands-on and collaborative leadership style. He continues to work closely with Sales, Projects, and Service teams, ensuring that Newsome’s high standards are upheld across every department. His technical credibility is reinforced by his IEng ACIBSE status with the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, a professional recognition that underlines his commitment to continuous learning and engineering best practice.
