Gin Tasting Declared the New Cocktail Making
Off Limits, one of the UK’s largest providers of hen parties, is predicting gin tasting to be the next big thing on the hen party activity scene.
In 2012, cocktail making was found to be one of the top selling hen party activities, along with life drawing classes and It’s a Knockout. VIP dinner and club entry was one of the best-selling evening events.
Staff at Off Limits have predicted that the list of most popular activities will be quite different in 2013. The vintage trend is set to continue, and activity providers are getting in on the act with brand new activities like gin tasting, which taps into the hot new trend for speakeasies and 1920s-themed bars. Gin parlours are now popping up in big cities like Birmingham, giving cocktail bars a run for their money.
London bars are already getting in on the act, with gin tasting menus featuring independent brands like London No.1, Adnam’s First Rate, Sacred, Plymouth, London Dry, and Blackwood’s Vintage. There’s not a Gordon’s in sight!
Cathy Alexander, PR for Off Limits, said: “Cocktail making has been the most popular activity for a few years now, as it combines an activity with drinking for a really reasonable price. However, we predict that gin tasting will go down a storm with hens on city breaks in locations like London, Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester.”
