The turning of the Christmas lights in St Albans means that festive season will soon be upon us. This year Grove House hospice is launching an event which they hope will become a firm favourite in the festive calendar.
The Jingle Bell Jog is a fun event for all the family and involves a run, jog or walk around the lake in Verulamium Park. To get in the festive spirit the adults will be provided with santa suits whilst the children will have reindeer ears, flashing noses and jingle bells!
Father Christmas prepares for the Jingle Bell Jog Grotto. It is now less than two weeks to the first Grove House Hospice Jingle Bell Jog. The preparations for the event are well under way for the festive run which takes place on
Sunday 6th December in Verulamium Park.
The Jingle Bell Jog is a fun event for all the family and involves a run, jog or walk, people can choose from a 2k route around the lake suitable for pushchairs or a more strenuous 3k route. To get in the festive spirit the adults will be provided with Santa suits whilst the children will have reindeer ears, flashing noses and jingle bells!
The Jingle Bell Joggers will be joined by Sarah Jane Honeywell childrens television presenter and pantomime star along with Father Christmas.
Father Christmas paid a visit earlier this week to Cuthberts Toys in Christopher Place to stock up on gifts for the grotto which he will be setting up his grotto at the Inn on the Park. The grotto will be open from 10.00 am until 1pm a visit to the grotto costs just £2 per child and includes a gift from Father Christmas with all proceeds going direct to Grove House.
Organiser Kathryn Wash said,The Jingle Bell Jog is going to be a great event which everyone from toddlers to grandparents can take part in. We are hoping that the local community really get behind this event and help Grove House Hospice raise much needed funds so we can carry on providing help and support for people living with cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
So if you want to get into the festive mood then why not sign up for the Jingle Bell Jog. Entrance cost just £10 per adult, £5 per child or £30 for a family (2 adults and 3 children) and includes festive costumes.
There will be prizes on offer for people who raise the most money in sponsorship. Everyone who raises over £50 in sponsorship will be entered into a draw to win a family ticket to the Little Mermaid pantomime at the St Albans arena including a backstage tour.
