Oranjebal London Very Successful For War Child
On November 24 the 16th edition of the Dutch Oranjebal took (Orange Ball) place at The Brewery in London. For the Dutch considered as the charity event and social highlight of the year. Events agency Connecting Venues had the honor to work with a committee of volunteers in planning and executing this production.
The evening started off with a warm welcome by Ambassador Laetitia van den Assum, for whom this was the first public appearance since her appointment as Ambassador of the Netherlands in London. Presentation was partially done by Dutch A-lister Lieke van Lexmond and the famous radio DJ Jens Timmermans on behalf of 538 for War Child, who impressed guests with his personal film report from Sierra Leone.
During the evening the auction, together with the sale of chocolate letters and a raffle raised over £14,000.- for 538 for War Child. The most successful auction item was the unique artwork by Joseph Klibansky designed for the album ‘Universal Religion Chapter 6′ by Armin van Buuren.
After dinner the party really kicked off with SHE Band and with DJ’s Jens Timmermans and Lucash behind the turntables.
The theme of the event was Delft’s Blue, a famous Dutch pottery style, which carried through in every small detail and gave a special Dutch feeling of Hollandse gezelligheid (Dutch cosiness).
“It’s fantastic to be part of this successful initiative. Looking at the entire production and after the many positive reactions, I think we have certainly set a standard for the future” said Denise Zijlstra Managing Director of Connecting Venues.
