Voltage fluctuation is common problem for industrial and commercial sector in India and it cause damaging of various industrial equipments and domestic appliances. Because of this variation circuit of device will burn or cause short circuiting. Here stabilizer provides solution as it protects our equipments from voltage fluctuations and provide constant flow of voltage after stabilizing the voltage supply. Stabilizers are classified as per their application. Most common used stabilizers offered in Indian market are servo voltage stabilizer and static stabilizer. These stabilizers are made to provide continuous input voltage and by this way we can decide which stabilizer is best for our particular application.
Servo voltage stabilizer consist a servo motor for stabilizing the voltage supply. Along with servo motor, stabilizer circuit and buck- boost auto transformer also help to correct input voltage fluctuations and supply at optimal level. Reference voltage is set by user which is compared by servo voltage stabilizer and send signal to circuit controller for stabilizing voltage at given level. So our appliances will get voltage load at permissible level and remain safe from various electrical problems. The function of servo voltage stabilizer and static voltage stabilizer is somewhat same. The main difference is static voltage stabilizer as name suggests consists no moving parts. For controlling the voltage fluctuations, it is using electronic converter circuit. Here microprocessor of the circuit compares the fluctuation in voltage level and sends signal to generate voltage to equalize power supply. Using primary coil of buck boost transformer, this voltage is then stabilized as per required output voltage. There are some other factors given to describe difference between both stabilizers.
Correction Speed & Time
Correction speed and time is more accurate in static voltage stabilizer because it does not have any moving parts. Its voltage corrections are more accurate using low time and providing high voltage speed for correction whereas servo stabilizer is somewhat slower than static stabilizer because it uses moving electro mechanical device.
Reliability of static stabilizer is mainly dependent on the IGBT power circuit whereas servo voltage stabilizer depends on the servo motors. In both the cases IGBT circuit of static stabilizer is more reliable then servo motors and that is why it is more preferred.
If we compare both the stabilizers in terms of voltage fluctuation protection then static stabilizer provide more fast and accurate result then servo stabilizer because of the use of IGBT circuit.
Servo voltage stabilizer have moving parts and it works on servo motors hence it need more maintenance then static stabilizer where other hand static stabilizer need lesser maintenance because of its static parts.
Similarly if we consider other features as well static voltage stabilizer proves fast, efficient and reliable because of its circuit. Therefore it is more suitable for places where important and expensive setups are used with limited space.
