In 2016 Facebook reported an income of 27.6 billion U.S dollars generated from their 1.86 billion monthly active users – $22 per user. New social media app BAAGLOO HEROES – who shares the advertising revenue with their users and charities chosen by the users says sharing is the future.
The app, which launched in July, 2016 already boasts over 11 million views per month and allows users to post statuses, comments and photos as they go about their day.
Founder & CEO DOMINIC O’MEARA, who has previously worked at Saatchi & Saatchi said:
“BAAGLOO HEROES offers a new idea for social media – sharing the advertising revenue with the people who actually use the app, and allowing users to choose which charities we donate to. Using BAAGLOO HEROES is a heroic act in itself.”
Using geo-mapping users can post to locations – be it their regular hunting grounds (a snap shot of their must have (complicated) daily caffeine order at their local coffee shop) – or newly explored places (an idyllic hidden beach in Thailand) – helping users to get a ‘feel’ for the location they find themselves in.
Users share in the advertising revenue by earning Baacoin – which can be exchanged for real money via PayPal. With an equal amount on top being paid to their chosen charity.
BAAGLOO HEROES is affiliated with several charities including UNICEF, Greenpeace, WWF and Save the Children.
Charities not currently listed can be nominated – 100 nominations gets a charity listed.
BAAGLOO HEROES has secured £250,000 worth of seed money from the China Venture Capitalist, GuanQun Investment (GQI). The deal valued
BAAGLOO HEROES at £2.75M.
BAAGLOO HEROES was named Finalist for Best Consumer App 2016 at AppsWorld, just 12 weeks after it’s launch.
Great things look set to come from this new, altruistic Social Media that puts society first.
