Zoek, an online UK based job board with more than half a million registered users, has expanded overseas. The company launched in India last month and has just this week unveiled its US arm of the company. Further plans to establish operations across parts of the Middle East and Europe are also on the near horizon.
Following the introduction of a unique A.I. algorithm that enables job seekers to much more accurately search and be matched with jobs, the company has witnessed a significant rise in traffic, with the site seeing over 61 million views this year alone.
Zoek India has already seen a successful launch, with over 100,000 website sessions within the first month, and an office scheduled to open in Mumbai later s year. Speaking of the launch of Zoek India, Matthew Sanders, CEO and founder of the company, said:
“The potential in India is of course massive. When looking at which country to begin with, India’s huge job market and its highly skilled workforce made it the obvious choice. We have seen how much we can help people find the right work in the UK and are very excited about showing jobseekers and employers in India just how much Zoek can help them.”
Unemployment rates in the US are at 8.4% as of August 2020, according to a Stastica report, in comparison to 3.7% in August 2019. Although this figure is higher, there has been a steady decline from 14.7% in April this year, when Covid-19 first hit. With over 5 million jobs already live on Zoek US, the job board is hoping to help the market recover through connecting employers to candidates.
“The success we are seeing is a direct result of the hard work we have put in developing a job board that really does everything possible to help match jobseekers with the right jobs and employers. We have all clearly seen how important our jobs can be. We believe we are helping people not only get back to work as quickly as possibly but get back to the right type of work for them.”
Moving into the US and Indian markets has grown the sales, marketing and web development teams for the company. The expansion aims to build Zoek as a leading job board in both countries.
