A next-generation smart device combining battery, cable, memory and wireless charger for Apple Watch and Qi devices poised to take peripheral and portable battery markets by storm.
UbiGen Inc., a startup aiming to revolutionize how smart devices are charged, is launching an Indiegogo campaign for its inaugural product known as the oCharger.
Being lauded as “the next-generation smart charger the world has been waiting for,” oCharger is a revolutionary, ultra-portable, multi-functional and all-in-one device that combines battery, cable, memory and wireless charging for Apple Watch and Qi devices. UbiGen Inc. has set out to raise $30,000 on Indiegogo to complete the final phase of development and produce the first batch of oCharger, a product that its own founder and inventor Calvin Na says is poised to disrupt the portable battery and peripheral devices market.
“Two years ago, I found myself growing ever more frustrated with carrying multiple peripheral devices with me all the time,” explains Na. “I had a battery pack, flash drive and a proverbial rat’s nest of tangled charging cords for various devices, and so I began my foray into creating the next-generation smart charger that would be able to charge all these devices…and much more. Unlike other portable devices that are designed strictly for emergency use, oCharger is powerful and practical enough to meet everyday charging needs at home, in the car and during travel.”
With a formidable built-in battery capable of doubling battery life of most smartphones on the go, oCharger boasts a full-size 2.5-foot (75 cm) retractable cable and can charge twice as fast in its Turbo Charging Mode. Furthermore, users can carry photos, videos and other large files without taking up any additional space on their iPhone, while data can be accessed anytime, anywhere without signal or Wi-Fi.
“What makes the oCharger so unique is that it will be the first device on the market that combines the battery, cable, memory and wireless charger into one solution – all while being able to charge Apple Watch and Qi devices wirelessly on the go,” explains Na. “What’s more, because the oCharger comes with 2-in-1 dual connectors – Micro USB and Apple Lightning (or USB Type C) – it has been designed to work flawlessly with Apple, Android, Windows and most devices on the market.”
UbiGen Inc. has been developing the oCharger for the past two years, and the product is scheduled to ship in the summer of 2016.
