A new, ultra-modern port and free zone in the area of Badagry (Nigeria), about sixty kilometres from Lagos and at the border with Benin: it is the purpose of the Badagry MegaPort and Free Zone, a port management project developed through a partnership between private entities. Overseen by the Nigerian Port Authorities, the project saw the participation of Sebastien Clamorgan‘s firm Venia International in the significant role of deal maker, broker and representative of a stakeholder’ interests.

Sebastien Clamorgan: port management and logistics, a focus on Venia International

A reference point in the African and Middle Eastern markets, Venia International is a well-known firm which was founded by Sebastien Clamorgan in the late Nineties. The firm specializes in global consulting and investments, and deals with multiple segments of the industry, ranging from Shipping, Food and Beverage, Airport Duty Free, to the sectors of Logistics and Port Management. Aimed at opening the doors to companies’ successful entry, the specialized services provided by Venia International embrace the relevant areas of market research and insights, lobbying, regional business setup, business development, mergers & acquisitions, and business intelligence. Its mission includes supporting partners on the most suitable approach for profitable business activities, as well as on the creation and development of new companies. With more than 3,000 employees and on the strength of its prominent position in the reference area, the global consulting and investment firm plays a leading role in building partnerships with global players: among the field of logistics, for example, the firm helped the transport company Trucklog LTD to become a leader in Sub-Saharan Africa. As an indirect shareholder, Venia International supported the company in providing efficient services by improving quality and safety across transport businesses. And it is not by chance that Trucklog LTD, just 18 months after starting its operations in Nigeria in 2017, became Lafarge’s best performer with regard to revenue and safety, turning out to be the best transporter in the east side of Nigeria (2018-2019). Another important field in which Sebastien Clamorgan ‘s firm operates is the port management sector, as showed by its crucial participation to the Badagry MegaPort and Free Zone project.

Sebastien Clamorgan (Venia International): the Badagry MegaPort and Free Zone project

With the significant ambition of partnering with the Nigerian Government and business leaders to support a strong and sustainable growth in Nigeria, the Badagry MegaPort and Free Zone project aims at developing a new and ultra-modern port and free zone in the area of Badagry (sixty kilometres from Lagos). The initiative is among the activities carried out by Sebastien Clamorgan‘s firm in the sector of port management: Venia International, indeed, played the role of deal maker, broker and representative of a stakeholder’ interests. The project – which is designed to allow companies to take advantage of worldwide assets while conducting business on a local level – is overseen by the Nigerian Port Authorities, and is being developed through a partnership between private entities. In order to support a strong development in the area, some of the most successful Nigerian companies have been brought together in a consortium: the goal is to deliver a successful Greenfield port & Free Zone, which aims at creating a platform for continued national and regional development, thus becoming a catalyst for growth in the country. In a context of such international relevance, the global consulting and investment firm led by Sebastien Clamorgan, Venia International, confirmed once again its key role in the development of business activities in the African and the Middle Eastern markets. For more than 25 years of business activity, indeed, the firm supported the establishment of many international brands desirous of establishing themselves in the area, thus becoming a reference point both in Africa and Europe.
