Naissance: The Ethical Startup Founded in a Spare Room, Now Shortlisted to Receive Amazon’s Coveted Exporting Small Business of the Year Award
Meet Naissance, a British family business that has grown from a startup in a spare room to serving over 1 million customers in 90 countries. No wonder they have been shortlisted for Amazon’s Exporting Small Business of the Year award.
Naissance is an online retailer of ethical and certified organic, vegan and anti-cruelty health and beauty products from aromatherapy massage oils to make-your-own organic chocolate kits. Naissance’s website, www.naissance.com, is a great place to look for interesting gifts for planet conscious friends and family. In recent years the company has won a number of regional business awards but is now in with a chance to add an international award from one of the biggest businesses on the planet, Amazon.
‘I really have to pinch myself,’ says Jem Skelding, the company’s founder. ‘A decade ago I had an idea for a business and thought I would give it a go in and a spare room at home. Now I am surrounded by a fantastic team of 100 people who have worked incredibly hard to get us this far.’
Asked about the opportunity to win such a significant award, Jem says, ‘It would be a huge boost for us to win Amazon’s Exporting Small Business of the Year award. We really hope people will support us and help us win by voting for us in the public vote on Amazon’s website. It has been an incredible journey this far and we are really excited to keep growing and flying the flag for small family businesses in Britain.’
Amazon’s Exporting Small Business of the Year award is decided by public vote and voting puts you in with a chance to win one of hundreds of £100 Amazon gift cards. The winning business will get an award package that includes one-to-one business support from Amazon as well as marketing and promotional support.
‘It would be huge for the team here to get personal support from Amazon’s business team,’ says Jem. ‘An incredible opportunity for us to learn from a household name.’
Voting is open now and closes on the 24th of November. You can help this ethical small business to continue pursuing their dream and get yourself in with a chance of winning £100 by voting for Naissance at:
