Free Energy and Money Saving Advice Service Open to Kent and Essex Residents
Stoke-on-Trent, UK. 5th December 2023 – LEAP, The Local Energy Advice Partnership’s free energy and money-saving service is now available in the London, Kent and Essex areas, as the ongoing fight against rising fuel poverty in the UK continues.
Local residents who are struggling with their energy bills, or anyone having trouble with heating their homes this winter can speak to LEAP’s network of qualified energy advisors and get free access to energy efficiency support and energy saving tech improvements.
The government has recently announced an upcoming price cap rise of 5% from current prices. This increase will affect 29 million energy customers around the UK. Fuel costs are expected to rise by £94 for direct debit customers.
This news will have deeply affected households in Kent and Essex. According to the Office of National Statistics, areas south of Tunbridge Wells are among the least energy-efficient in the Kent area. According to National Energy Action, nearly 6000 households in Harwich and North Essex alone live in fuel poverty.
LEAP’s in house energy experts and delivery partners cover 211 local authorities across 70% of the UK population, including Kent and Essex:
“Fuel poverty is right on our doorstep. We are here to help local residents with free energy advice; it all starts with a relaxed, informal call. Anyone in the area who is struggling with the rising cost of energy bills is encouraged to get in touch. It’s about helping households minimise the risk of falling into fuel poverty and for those who are already in it, it’s reminding them that they don’t have to suffer alone.” – Vanessa Springham, Head of Marketing & Communications, Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP)
LEAP’s services include appliance support, energy advice, access to energy efficiency funding schemes and boiler replacement. There is a wide range of eligibility criteria, so households are encouraged to get in touch via the website and arrange a call to get the most out of the free services available.
