Self-catering reaches new heights in 2010
Kendal Cottages is opening a new luxurious riverside apartment in Kendal, perfectly situated between two National Parks – the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
Sleeping four, this beautiful accommodation sets the standard for others in the self-catering industry to follow. Both bedrooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs, luxurious linens and sumptuous soft furnishings.
The large, open plan living area allows guests to dine over the river, or relax in front of a 42" Panasonic Viera TV with integrated Bose sound system; and for those who like their gadgets, there’s free WiFi and an iPod/iPhone docking station.
The kitchen has all your usual modcons – oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, separate freezer and washer/dryer.
But the highlight of the property is the spacious balcony and the stunning view that looks down the River Kent, over one of Kendal’s historic bridges and to Kendal Castle – where Catherine Parr, Henry VIII’s sixth wife, once lived – beyond.
Secure underground car parking is available with keycard access, from where there is lift access to the apartment. Alternatively, for those who like to leave the car at home, the train station is within walking distance.
Prices start from £450 per week (Friday to Friday). Out of season, short breaks are available from just £270 – a steal for such high quality accommodation.
