Second Release Candidate For WordPress 4.6 Is Now Available

There is good news for the WordPress lovers, the second release candidate for WordPress 4.6 is now available.

In this RC 2, 30 major changes were made since first release candidate. WordPress team states that “we think we’re done, but with millions of users and thousands of plugins and themes, it’s possible we’ve missed something.”

How to test 4.6

To test WordPress 4.6, here two options are available. First, by using WordPress Beta Tester Plugin. Secondly, by downloading the Release Candidate. And if you find any kind of bug, you are free to post to the Alpha/Beta support forum.

A few changes since the first release candidate:

> Various fixes for streamlined updates. These include better failure messages and error handling, basic back-compat styling for custom update notifications, and additional and standardized JavaScript events

> Another change noticed in RC 2 is about compatibility. A compatibility issue with PHP 7.0.9 (and PHP 7.1) has been fixed

> Unnecessary reference parameters have been eliminating from new multisite functions

> Support for custom HTTP methods and proxy authentication has been restored

Developers of WordPress team states that “If you find compatibility problems please be sure to post to the support forums so can figure those out before the final release – we never want to break things.”

So, test your plugins and themes against WordPress 4.6 and update your plugin’s Tested up to the version in the readme to 4.6. if there is any compatibility issue, you are free to post to the support forum.
