Secon Cyber launches ConnectProtect® Managed Detection and Response, transforming how organisations protect, detect and recover from cyber attacks

ConnectProtect® Managed Detection and Response enables IT and security leaders to transform their security operations by detecting and isolating threats that have evaded existing security technologies.

The service allows organisations to optimise their cyber security capability, make faster response decisions and boost their resilience through intelligent Managed Detection and Response.

Surrey, UK – 20 July 2020 – Secon Cyber, a leading cyber security services and solutions company, today announced the launch of ConnectProtect® Managed Detection and Response, a new security service that enables organisations to outsource the monitoring of their digital estate for cyber threats. This service helps clients identify and respond to threats faster using the ConnectProtect® platform and security expertise from Secon Cyber’s 24x7x365 security operations centre (SOC).

Managed Detection and Response is vital for organisations to be able to identify and respond to attacks from cyber criminals. Without the appropriate visibility in place, it takes an average of 206 days to detect a breach (Source: IBM). ConnectProtect® Managed Detection and Response enables IT and security teams to put their confidence in a partner that provides rapid and effective incident response, a reduction in the mean time to detect (MTTD) and the mean time to respond (MTTR), as well as centralised visibility and security analytics in a single dashboard.

IT and security teams are responsible for protecting IT infrastructure, user devices, networks and data. However, cyber security is dominated by siloed point products that need on-going maintenance. Many companies do not have the internal skills to properly maintain these technologies, which can render them ineffective and gives a false sense of security. These organisations also do not have the resource in-house to constantly monitor the alerts generated by their security tools, which is necessary to identify and respond to attacks from cyber criminals.

If a company is under attack, they need to react and respond fast. Most companies do not even know if they are under attack and do not know what to do in the event of a breach. In fact, UK organisations spend about £8.3 billion every year on cyber security technologies (Source: UK Cyber Security Sectoral Analysis 2020 – Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport), but security leaders say that 59% of the technologies were ineffective due to lack of maintenance and their inability to monitor these technology for threats. This means more than £4.9 billion in annual trade spend is not optimised.

“Continuous security monitoring remains one of the most important pieces of an organisation’s cyber security strategy, however many breaches go undetected if IT and security teams do not have the resource, capability and experience needed to detect and respond to threats,” said Janakan Nadarajah, Chief Operating Officer at Secon Cyber. “ConnectProtect® Managed Detection and Response provides our customers with the intelligence and expertise they need to be successful on the ground, whilst helping build both credibility and stronger relationships with their internal and external stakeholders.”
