Off the back of a exhilarating and somewhat exhausting Autumn series in 2009, Rugby Union’s international focus is now shifting firmly to this year’s RBS 6 Nations competition.
After their hard fought 15-10 win over the reigning world champions, Ireland will be more confident than ever of retaining their title and winning their third grand slam in 2010. Tickets for all of the fixtures in this year’s hotly anticipated competition are on sale now at www.viagogo.co.uk.
The action kicks off on 6th February 2010, and sees England take on Wales at Twickenham. Another well anticipated match features England taking on Ireland. England have been heavily criticised for their performance in the last few years, criticism that was not helped by their poor showing at the autumn tests in 2009. In 2010 they will be looking to prove something to both the media and their fans, and will hope to surpass expectations that see them as dark horses in this year’s competition. In order to do this, they will no doubt have to defeat France at St. Denis on 20th March in the last fixture of the competition – a match that could well determine the destination of the championship trophy.
