YOYODATA - Allowing consumers to own their own data

Press Release: October 09, 2015

Allowing You to Own Your Own Data!

Until now, the process of managing and updating personal information stored by financial institutions has been time consuming and frustrating and has entailed endless and repetitive form filling.

The launch of free site YOYODATA.co.uk aims to change that by putting consumers in charge of their own data and making the financial industry realise that it needs to embrace advances in technology which truly put the customer at the heart of their operation.

The site is free to consumers and provides them with tools to take control of their own data and share it with the organisations that they choose to, when they need to.

Whether applying for a financial service such as a loan or insurance or simply updating their existing information, consumers can enter the details into the secure portal once and can allow the service provider access to selected information.

Paul Grainger, Founder and Managing Director of YOYODATA explains:

‘When consumers deal with financial institutions such as banks, building societies, insurance providers or even Independent Financial Advisors, they are faced with the prospect of dealing with huge amounts of administration. Currently, there’s no central point to hold that information giving the customer control of their data and the option of who to share it with.’

Paul continues:

‘For too long, financial institutions have seen themselves as in charge of their customers’ data. We aim to change the way that people share their data and put control back in the hands of the consumer and put pressure on the industry to become more flexible and user friendly.’

The site is committed to providing the highest levels of security and will be continually reviewing its systems to ensure the privacy of users.

YOYODATA is encouraging consumers to identify which organisations they would like to see join up to the scheme. Visit www.yoyodata.co.uk to find out more.
