Press Release: March 29, 2010
A WORKPLACE safety expert has secured the backing of the countrys leading security company for a national conference he is hosting.
Over the last two decades, Robert Kaiser, of PPSS, has been asked to advise a plethora of different organisations, ranging from Local Authorities to NHS Trusts and Housing Associations on how to keep their workforce safe.
In May, Robert, who has also written a number of books on the subject, is staging a major national conference in Londons Earls Court Conference Centre, which G4S is sponsoring
Subjects under the spotlight include understanding the risks posed to lone workers, responding to potentially aggressive and dangerous situations, implementing safety strategies for those who work alone and helping lone workers deal with the aftermath of an assault.
Robert, said: Violence towards lone workers is unacceptable and this event is about establishing how to combat it. The conference is aimed at any organisations and businesses that have workers operating on their own.
This includes the likes of midwives, housing officers, meter readers, traffic wardens, delivery drivers and even the clergy.
Many of the incidents we sadly read and hear about involving attacks on lone workers could have been avoided if the right procedures had been in place. A persons body language is often a giveaway, but only if you know how to read these signs.
Securing G4S as our headline sponsor is a major boost for us and shows the importance of the subject we are tackling.
Another big name throwing its weight behind the conference is Connexion2, who manufacture lone worker safety alarms.
Now spending the majority of his time as a consultant, Roberts early career saw him working as a bodyguard and managing a number of security teams. His research for his work Be Safe The Guide to Womens Personal Safety saw him interviewing more than a dozen convicted rapists.
