LoginRadius, the world's leading provider of solutions for customer identity and access management (CIAM), announced that companies will now allow customers to identify themselves with the identification of biometrics available on their mobile devices.
The new Mobile Biometric Authentication feature of the platform is dedicated to mobile applications and enables users to use the Face ID and Touch ID of their mobile devices for authentication.
Without having to put in more effort, customers may use their current biometrics for authentication. In fact, it also implies that the biometric data of customers stays stored on their phone rather than on the server, so that this feature is even more secure.
“The increased availability of biometric capabilities on smartphones and other mobile devices suggests that the time is ripe for enabling mobile biometric authentication
for consumers,” says Deepak Gupta, CTO of LoginRadius.
“We are happy to be at the forefront of this exciting trend. We are enabling businesses to offer better security and a convenient mobile onboarding and passwordless authentication experience,” he adds.
LoginRadius includes the following capabilities for Android and iOS devices, given that consumers’ mobile devices also support these features.
- Touch ID: This purpose authenticates the use of fingerprints by customers. Without going through the entire setup process, customers can still use fingerprints that are the same as previously set for their Android or iOS mobile devices.
- Face ID: This feature authenticates the use of its face by customers. Similar to Touch ID, the Face ID stays the same as the consumer's mobile device is already set. They do not need to go all over again through the setup process.
Businesses can configure both authentication options for their applications and let consumers choose their preference or the available option with their device while setting up the app.
