Press Release: January 21, 2010
After months of hard work and preparation, Vocal have been rigorously assessed and recognised by the Employer Representation Board and awarded the Investor in People Standard.
Trevor Wheatley-Perry, Director of Vocal, said that This award reflects the commitment Vocal has shown in consistently placing a real value on employee development. A lot of time and effort has been spent in not only qualifying for this prestigious standard but also laying down the business framework for our continued employee investment.
First developed in 1990, the Investor in People Standard offers a number of key benefits, its main objective being to help organisations manage and develop their people effectively, thereby improving productivity and ultimately profitability.
Becoming an Investor in People is a tremendous accomplishment which other employers will increasingly aspire towards, adds Paula Darnell, Customer Service Co-ordinator for the Assessment Network. The standard represents a true commitment to employees and demonstrates solid foundation of good practise which remains challenging and aspirational for many organisations.
The Investor in People Standard is based on real life practices and looks at your strategy, how you plan your development activities, how these link with the organisations objectives, how effective your leaders and managers are and finally how to measure the return on your investment in your people.
