Press Release: March 30, 2010
The IAM has recently published its own road safety manifesto, with the aim of significantly reducing the number of road deaths and serious car-related injuries that occur on the roads year on year.
The Institute of Advanced Motoring is currently the nations most prominent road safety charity and part of its groundbreaking ideas include offering incentives to chief constables for higher-profile policing and potential tax breaks for companies that offer staff drivers extra training.
By improving the skills, experience and reaction of drivers it is possible to eradicate human error at the wheel which remains the biggest cause of car accidents and ultimately, rising UK car insurance premiums.
The IAM also believes that a lack of visible policing is often an underrated deterrent when it comes to controlling reckless driving.
It could also potentially eradicate the number of drink drivers who will think twice about having an extra pint or glass of wine if they feared a greater number of officers on the roads could catch them.
