Travel Back To The 80s In Style With Great Escape Classic Cars

Press Release: April 12, 2010

If you fancy travelling back to the decade of baggy trousers, leg warmers and shoulder pads, then a Midlands car enthusiast has just the answer!

Husband and wife team Graham and Janine Eason, who run classic car hire company, Great Escape, have just added a number of vintage vehicles from this iconic era to its ever expanding fleet, which is now officially the largest collection for hire in the UK.

The latest collection stars a limited edition Brooklands Ford Capri, Alfa Sud, Porsche 928 and of course a Golf GTI.

The launch also coincides with the third and final series of the hugely popular BBC 1 crime drama, Ashes to Ashes - set in the 1980s and featuring DCI Gene Hunt and his colleagues.

Graham said: More and more trends made famous in the 80s have made a huge come back recently, such as Ray-Ban Wayfarers, and to appeal to the growing number of the decades aficionados, we have decided to bring back the cars!

Our new additions are in fantastic condition and are ready for hire. One model that proved quite difficult to find, but one that we are thrilled to have on our books, is the sports-GT Porsche 928 made famous by the film Risky Business starring Tom Cruise.

The entire fleet of more than 50 cars sans the 1950s to the 1990s and boasts Jensens, Aston Martins, Jaguars, Mercedes, Fords, Rolls Royces, Volkswagens, Triumphs and Morris Minors.

Graham added: Great Escape is not just about hiring a car; it is about the whole experience. We also offer advice on locations for the perfect drive in your area and how to make the most of your classic car experience.

Great Escape has three bases - Dorset, Worcester and Suffolk and next month (April) opens its fourth in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The company can supply cars to both customers wanting to experience their own great escape and businesses looking to hire a classic car for production purposes.

OK Magazine is the latest to call upon the stunning collection, as it used a Mercedes SL Pagoda in a Grace Kelly-themed fashion shoot. A Jensen Interceptor has also recently featured in a music video for up and coming folk singer Alan Pownalls new single, Chasing Times.
