FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The O.L.H.C Foundation is determined to Continue its 137 year Legacy As a PEACEABLE School
June 2, 2020 -- East Orange, NJ - On 23 North Clinton Street in East Orange, New Jersey stands a brick school building for 137 years. This building called Our Lady Help of School, A Peaceable School is more than brick and mortar, books, and desks. This school stands as a Citadel of Hope in the midst of human and environmental crisis! This Faith-based school stands strong because of the staff, the dedication, the students’ spirit and the parents' sacrifice. We all know that children spend more time in school then they do at home. OLHC has been a “home away from home” and a haven for our students and families, both past and present.
Our Lady of Help Christian School is one of the beating hearts of the city of East Orange, New Jersey. It was with sadness that the Archdiocese of Newark announced the closure of its doors on May 7, 2020. With the spirit of determination the staff, parents & community are fighting to continue the legacy. We invite you to join us in building a new and bright future for all our hard working families. Your support will empower us to be a Citadel of Hope and Harmony in the midst of racial divide and environmental crisis.
The mission of Our Lady Help Of Christians Catholic School, A Peaceable School is to provide the spiritual and educational services that are conducive to the full development of the students, faculty, and families in our multicultural community. A Peaceable School is a community of learners that include teachers, students, and parents, who commit themselves to be at peace with God, with Earth, with Self and with Others! Not only does East Orange need O.L.H.C but the world needs this school. A school to thousands of students that graduated to become doctors, lawyers, fire fighters, educators, nurses, entrepreneurs and entertainers.
Time is of the essence and we are humbly seeking the media & communities support and assistance in accomplishing the achievable goal of re-opening the doors of O.L.H.C. led by the dynamic & passionate Sister Patricia Hogan for fourty-one years.
