Sir Richard Branson will be joined by a panel of high profile speakers, including Professor Brian Cox, Sal Khan, founder of the Khan Academy and Toby Young, found of the West London Free School, to explore 'The future of education: Does the current model make the grade?' in the next Virgin Disruptors Debate.
The Disruptors event is set to explore new technologies in education, the impact on teaching methods, universal accessibility, STEM education, MOOCs and preparing our children for future jobs that are yet to exist, culminating in the hour-long, live streamed Disruptors debate at 5pm on Friday 2nd October 2015.
Hosted by Sam Branson, the event will offer attendees interactive experiences and speaker sessions from humanoid and programmable robot leaders Aldebaran and Google’s Virtual Reality classroom tool Expeditions. Other speakers include Galactic Unite, Pearson and Big Change.
Virgin Group founder, Sir Richard Branson, said:
"Education doesn't just take place in classrooms and university buildings, it can happen everywhere, every day to every person. We need to rethink the way we teach and inspire young people and anticipate the skills that will be needed not just tomorrow but in five, 10 and even 20 years time. Disruptors will tackle the future of education head-on during a day of innovation, exploration and debate.”
The event takes place from 9am to 6pm at WeWork Moorgate, 1 Fore Street, London, EC2Y 5EJ.
Tickets cost £250 but are discounted to £200 until September 4th, and are available from Eventbrite by visiting http://virgin.eventbrite.co.uk
