Shammi Rana is appointed as Rapporteur of Unesco Traditional Sports and Games Adhoc Advisory Committee to promote Unesco's Mandate on Traditional Sports and Games.Mr Rana also a Secretary General of Asian Belt Wrestling Federation and being Promoter Mr Rana is promoting Belt Wrestling as martial arts and Traditional Sports and Games. The past year was an exciting one for Mr. Rana, a Public Relations Expert & Promoter of Martial Arts Organizations. Being a highly visible and internationally recognized individual led to his appointment as Rapporteur/Secretary General of the
UNESCO Traditional Sports and Games (TSG) Adhoc Committee. Through the TSGs,UNESCO, (which stands for the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural
Organization) advocates cross-cultural cooperation through sports diplomacy and the preservation of cultural sports and games. He has promoted this crucial activity of UNESCO by attending international sporting events and meeting with various international dignitaries and heads of sports associations in Italy, the United States, Italy,and Kazakhstan to discuss UNESCO TSG inclusion and participation,demonstrated by his work with Kanat Bozumbaev, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to include Kuresi, a style of Kazakstani wrestling, as an official TSG. Mr. Rana, who also serves on internationally governing associations, such as his role as General Secretary of the Asian Belt Wrestling Federation, oversaw the formation of the Amateur Belt Wrestling Federation of India, Belt Wrestling Federation of Nepal, Belt
Wrestling Federation of South Korea, Belt Wrestling Federation of Bangladesh, and Belt Wrestling Federation of Sri Lanka. Locally, Mr. Rana has promoted the Korean martial arts, Taekwondo, to over 30 schools in his home state of Punjab, India.
Mr Rana also appointed as member of Interim Coordination Committee of TSG in PAN America to promote Traditional Sports and Games in PAN America
