Rubber Stamp for Code of Conduct

Recognition and acceptance of the Business Centre Associations (bca) Code of Conduct has recieved the stamp of approval from a leading member of the brokering community, with officebroker.com completing the integration of the bca Code of Conduct Shield (pictured) to its website.

The Code of Conduct, which forms part of a wider Consumer Charter, is designed to govern the way in which internet brokers and office providers conduct their activties, resulting in greater transparency and setting minimum standards from those opting into the charter.

This step forward for the industry, which comes after a less than harmonious twelve months between brokers, providers and the bca also symbolises a new chapter for the parties involved as bca Executive Director Jennifer Brooke explains:

This provides a tangible demonstration of the way in which we are all working together for the benefit of the industry. It also represents a significant step towards achieving greater transparency between consumer, operator and broker - a central objective of our new Consumer Charter
Jennifer Brooke, bca Executive Director

Jim Venables, co-founder and MD of officebroker.com, has been a regular face at recent regional bca meetings and reiterated how the addition of the bca shield represented a marked change in the relationship between brokers, providers and the bca:

Adding the Code of Conduct Shield to our website and bca members profiles is a stamp of approval for the agreement reached between the brokering community, serviced office providers and the bca a result which will hopefully strengthen the industry and help to raise the standards of all involved for the benefits of our customers
Jim Venables, Founder & MD, officebroker.com

The next step for the bca will be to outline a Code of Conduct for those members who provide serviced, flexible or managed workspace, discussions on this process are due to commence in April.
