Road Rage - Car Stickers Linked to Driver Road Rage

Press Release: February 19, 2010

The research showed that drivers with stickers or ornaments in their rear windscreen are more likely to drive in an aggressive, abrasive fashion. It was also found that such drivers are more likely to defend their road space and react angrily to drivers who encroach on them territorially.

However, when Swift Cover car insurance surveyed its customers it was found that just 3% of drivers questioned had stickers in their rear windscreen; while a mere 2% of drivers had fluffy dice hanging above their dashboards.

Tina Shortle, Swift Cover marketing director, said: "We have found no evidence of increased claims involving cars with stickers and ornaments - but perhaps that's because our customers are keeping away from drivers with furry dice."

Interestingly further investigations into road rage have been carried out by Continental Tyres, who found a correlation between drivers who passed their driving test second time and a more passive, safer driving approach at the wheel.

Aggressive driving can only lead to negative consequences avoid personal confrontations and travel from A to B in a controlled and responsible manner.
