NEW YORK, 11 August 2020 – The 1st edition of the American Legion Patriot Day Virtual 5k run will take place from Tue September 1 - Sat September 12, 2020 Penn Yan, NY US 14527.
All proceeds from the event will support the American Legion which played the leading role in the drafting and passing of the Serviceman's Readjustment Act of 1944, commonly known as the "G.I. Bill." In addition to organizing commemorative events, members aid at Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals and clinics.
The American legion is active in issue-oriented U.S. politics. Its primary political activity is lobbying on behalf of interests of veterans and service members, including support for benefits such as pensions and the Veterans Health Administration. It has also historically promoted Americanism, individual obligation to the community, state, and nation; peace and good will.
A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.
