A new creative holiday break company launches this summer in the UK.
Argyll Creative Holidays (https://argyll-creative-holidays.business.site/
) has been set up to encourage UK 'staycationers' to take part in various creative activities such as poetry writing, journaling and painting, with other activities planned.
The company is the brainchild of writer and tutor Catherine McLean, who has a home on the Isle of Bute, on the West Coast of Scotland. Catherine says,
“The UK is a wonderful place full of creative possibilities. I have been planning to set up a company like this for a long time and have seen how the island is the perfect environment for exploring and connecting with nature through writing and art. The UK has so many diverse habitats from forests to beaches, castles to ancient standing stones.
My creative weekends are open to all, particularly people who have never thought themselves as writers or artists. My approach is all about encouraging personal expression and having fun.
Covid-19 has been a catalyst for starting this company as it’s been a long term ambition and, with the increasing popularity of staycations, it seemed the perfect time to launch.”
The first weekends will run in July and August 2021 and are titled ‘Escape to Create: Connecting with Nature through Writing’.
The nature theme is particularly relevant at this time, as Catherine says,
“During lockdown people have become more aware of the beauty in nature and I hope to enable people to take this appreciation further, whilst also relaxing and having fun. Last year was a difficult year for many and creative holidays are a great way to revive your spirits.”
