Press Release: September 06, 2019
Thanks for taking the time to learn about what Mark Britain does and why he does it.
In a nutshell, Mark helps people work through troublesome issues and phases, get clarity on who they are and how they want to live and then help them to stay on that path. He has been doing that since 30 long years and he loves it.
Mark's therapeutic approach could be described as humanistic-client centred. Mark works with the collective wisdoms of ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), Positive & Buddhist Psychology and basic neuroscience as well as drawing on my own broad and rich experiences of life. Mark's work is very important to him and he cares deeply about helping his clients through difficult times, learning about themselves along the way so that they emerge lighter, brighter and ready for more of life.
A few words about what led Mark Britain to this work in his own words…
Many moons ago (from my mid twenties through to my early thirties) I was riddled with negativity, insecurity and anxiety. I was very overweight, I smoked heavily, drank and ate far too much, worked hard and partied harder and generally neglected my health. I had always found relationships extremely challenging and struggled to stay in them. Even though I appeared to be happy and loving life underneath I was quite UNhappy and in general I was very UNwell. A 6 month period of undiagnosed panic attacks led to agoraphobia and then depression which knocked me out of action completely. It took a long time and lots of therapeutic support to build my confidence to connect to people and life again but I did it and have not been derailed like that since. I’m grateful for all the lessons I’ve learnt throughout my life and I’m even more grateful to be utilising them (and a tonne of study) to support others in this time of my life. I’m happy and well and eager to help.
