Looking for a new career in 2010?

Press Release: December 07, 2009

Not only is Christmas a time to catch up with family and old friends, its also a time for reflection and for many a time to assess our priorities are we getting the most out of life? Particularly our working life.

Kumon, an after-school provider of maths and English programmes, is a career option which allows you to put something back to be at the heart of your community offering educational support to children and as you would be self employed, it affords the opportunity to have more control and flexibility in your working life.

Kumon exists to provide as many children as possible with the opportunity to learn and aims to give them the best chance in life by offering a unique and individualised study programme that is tailored to the needs of each child. As a Kumon Instructor running your own maths and English study centre, you would be part of a global community of franchisees stretching across 46 countries with over 58,000 students in the UK and Ireland.

Kumon is currently looking to open new franchises throughout the UK in 2010. If you understand the true value of education and are interested in running an education franchise, then you could become a Kumon Instructor and own a Kumon Franchise that could provide you with freedom, flexibility and solid financial rewards.

Our expanding network of Instructors work for themselves, but certainly not by themselves. Instructors are extensively supported throughout their careers by Kumon staff, to help grow their student numbers year on year. Many of our Instructors had never considered becoming a franchisee before they encountered Kumon. But what they all have in common is that they are responsible individuals with a passion for education and a desire to help children grow and develop. Our Instructors come from all different walks of life: from teachers and qualified private tutors, to dedicated parents and successful business people.

Smita Ghelani, who became a Kumon Instructor in 2001 said:
"I had worked in the travel industry and teaching English as a foreign language and was looking for a challenge. I have three young children so I wanted to do something that was flexible. I was also keen to have my own business. Kumon combines a lot of attractive things for me."

Smita continues: "Kumon as a business is a long-term investment, which yields more as your centre develops. My overheads are largely the same as they were a few years ago but my income from students has significantly increased."

If you have a passion for education and would like to find out more about the Kumon franchises for sale in your local area, please contact our recruitment team on 0800 854 714 or complete our online application form which is available on Kumon.co.uk.
