Mercedes-Benz of Music City donated 10,000 FDA-approved face masks to Nashville Police Department during the Covid-19 pandemic.

NASHVILLE, April 29,2020 - Joe Agresti CEO of Mercedes-Benz of Music City and General Manager Edwin Vickery has spent weeks tirelessly working with multiple companies to supply masks to all their essential employees and frontline workers in their community. Vickery reached out to Nashville's Deputy Chief Todd Henry to donate the masks. The donation comes at a time when personal protective equipment has depleted due to the high demands during the coronavirus outbreak making it difficult for police to obtain.

Americans are struggling with over 26 million losing their job to the coronavirus pandemic. Tennessee has seen statewide struggles of unemployment. The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce reported that in the past six weeks over 400,000 new unemployment claims have been filed. Mercedes-Benz of Music City saw these troubling numbers and decided to extend a helping hand. Along with donating masks, the luxury dealer announced on April 29 that they are offering up complimentary labor to Mercedes-Benz owners who have been laid off, furloughed, or have lost their job due to COVID-19.

“While other dealers are laying off their employees, we are doing everything in our power to support our team physically, emotionally, and financially, said Agresti. “Everyone is getting paid even if we sent them home due to vulnerabilities. Most of our team is intact and ready to serve, so our team is providing complimentary labor!”
