Key Issues will be under Discussion before Meeting UN by GCC Officials

Riyadh: Key issues of region, with special mentions to the UN General Assembly meeting in New York City, will end the agenda of talks betwixt Gulf Cooperation Council foreign ministers in the Saudi capital on Tuesday.

A GCC statement released on Monday, said: “The meeting will review key regional and international issues including Syria, Libya, Yemen and Palestine, besides the war on terror.”
This GCC ministerial conferencing comes a day before the UN General Assembly meeting in New York City on Wednesday. “

A big number of top GCC officials will travel to the US to debate and discuss a range of major regional and international issues with leaders of world, who have begun assembling in New York City to attend the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.
The GCC meeting, to be led by Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Khaled bin Mohammad Al Atiyyah, will also discuss endorse of the past committees of ministerial. Asked about the scheduled of the meeting of GCC ministerial, a diplomatic source said that “regional affairs like Syria and Yemen will figure importantly.” He said that the Palestinian of Israel dispute will also be discussed at length. To this end, he noted that the UN Gen. Assembly on Thursday overwhelmingly accept a Palestinian resolution that will give permission to Palestine to fly their flag at the Headquarters of the UN.

The Foreign Minister of GCC, he said, will also exchange notes about their involvement in an important terrorism conference to be hosted by President of US Barack Obama on the sidelines of the UN meeting. In fact, GCC leaders’ states and other US allies have been summoned to attend this summit to be held at the Headquarters of the UN in New York on 29th of September.
