James Pratt: Crowned Australia's Best Auctioneer For the Second Straight Year in a Row

Press Release: July 06, 2020

The 8th Annual Australian Real Estate Business Awards on June 27th was a record-breaking night in Australia. Known as the Academy Awards for Australian Real Estate, the event saw James Pratt make history by Winning Australia’s Best Auctioneer Award for the second straight year in a row. This was the first time the prestigious ceremony was held live and online, attracting a record audience around the world.

Nominations for each award category were open to all of Australia, and despite being a virtual event the dress code was still Blacktie with both Men and women showcasing their fashion virtually.

Fans watching were able to watch and also interact within the virtual grand ballroom as host Vince Sorenti acted as MC on a professional sound stage along with an array of profile presenters who were broadcast live announcing the finalists and then the winners.

One of the most sought after awards on the night was Australian Auctioneer of the Year, which saw James Pratt win for the second straight year in a row.

“Thank you very much for all the support from my team, our clients and REB, I really appreciate all the encouragement you have given me, Thank you so much.” said Pratt, when accepting his award via a live cross link to him.

Pratt’s auctioneer ability and talent has been praised overseas especially within the United States, a country that despite not using auction as a preferred method to sell homes has openly applauded the Australian and his distinguished skillset.

One of America's most high profile realtors and Fox business’s, Dolly Lenz was the first person to congratulate James on social media for winning the top award again, whilst in February James was asked to be a keynote speaker for Italk New York along Comcast VP Shaun Levinson,  Bravo TVs Ali Levine and Roc Nations Philly Freeway. In 2019 Pratt also made history conducting the World's First Real estate Cryptocurrency auction.

It’s not confirmed if next year's Australian Real Estate Business Awards will be held online again, however this year's event certainly has made history and provided the Australian Real Estate Industry with a new way of hosting prestigious awards.
