In 2015, Canada launched the Express Entry Program, an application management system for its economic immigration programs. The Express Entry Program is a highly competitive program where eligible candidates are ranked against each other. Only the highest-ranking candidates receive an invitation to apply for Canada PR.
To rank the candidates, Canada uses a merit-based points system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Every eligible candidate is awarded a score based on their Express Entry profile called the CRS score. The maximum available points on the Comprehensive Ranking System are 1200.
For those of you who do not understand your CRS score, here is an easy guide.
The CRS System awards points differently to married and unmarried candidates. If your spouse is not accompanying you to Canada, you will be scored as an unmarried candidate.
