How To Take Care Of Baby Teeth And Gums

Press Release: June 06, 2020

These refer to the set of teeth, a newly born child either has or develops in the early years of infancy. Generally, these teeth remain in the baby’s mouth until the new permanent teeth replace them. Baby teeth are also called deciduous teeth because they shed away with time just like the leaves of a deciduous tree.

Importance Of Baby Teeth

The baby teeth are quite important for the child’s development and growth. The following tells us why baby teeth are so important:

1) Retain space for permanent teeth: Baby teeth appear in the earliest years of a child. They make space for themselves in the jaw where permanent teeth will grow later.

2) Give the face a proper shape: A baby’s face develops over time. For it to have a good structure, the teeth should be healthy and well maintained. A toothless baby will have difficulty maintaining the shape of their face as well as others.

3) Essential for speech modulation: Because most of the syllables, we use while pronouncing/speaking a language, requires the involvement of the teeth, baby teeth help the child speak properly.
