Press Release: December 06, 2020
It’s true that there can be a chill in the air all year round, but things can become extra biting during December, January, and February, when the warmth of the summer months feels very far away indeed.
While there’s nothing you can do about the temperature outside, there is something you can do about the temperature inside your home. If you’re still cold once you walk through your front door, then don’t settle for sitting there in a glove and scarf set -- take action. Did you know that there’s help available that’ll allow you to make your home a more pleasant place to be, temperature wise?
There’s a whole host of government grants available that will allow residents who qualify the chance to get a free boiler grant, or underfloor insulation, or cavity wall insulation. If you don’t know what these are, then we’ll put it into the simplest terms -- they’re designed to make your home warmer. The boiler will help to pump more warm air around your property more efficiently, while the insulation will ensure that the heat stays inside your home, rather than escaping through the walls.
This all sounds promising, so why don’t you have to pay? It’s all due to government initiatives, which are there to help people with colder homes living in more comfortable conditions -- and it’s better for the environment too. This can lead to significant savings, compared with what a homeowner would pay if they pursued the same things privately. A boiler could cost up to £2,300, whereas cavity insulation is around £1000. Thanks to the ECO scheme, you won’t have to pay.
There are a couple of obligations you’ll need to meet if you’re to qualify for the grant, however. You’ll almost certainly qualify if you own your own home and there’s someone living at the house that qualifies for benefits, which includes universal credit, child benefit, disability living allowance, and so on. It’s not just that you’ll save on the cost of the installation of those items, either. Because they’re more efficient than outdated technologies, you’ll notice a reduction in your energy bills too. It’s estimated that it could lead to savings of around £320 a year. You have some time to qualify for the scheme since it’s due to run until March 2022, but the sooner you get it, the sooner you can make savings.
So if you’re interested in taking part in this scheme, then be sure to get in touch with us here at Boiler Redcar. You can easily apply online; all you need to do is click the link at the top of the page, fill out your answers to the prompted questions, and then wait for us to get in touch. If you qualify, then you could soon benefit from a much warmer home, and you won’t have to spend a penny.
