Further changes at Fordmore Farm Shop to help provide for community

Press Release: March 15, 2021

Fordmore Farm Shop, based on the Honiton Road, Cullompton, has been providing the local community with essential supplies during the Covid-19 outbreak. With the extended lockdown continuing since Christmas the Fordmore team have once again been creative in order to find solutions to help provide their services to the community.

Throughout the pandemic Fordmore have tried to keep up with changing restrictions, from offering car park collection, their popular Friday night takeaways from their café (which is unable to open full time due to restrictions), and now they have started accepting online orders from the local community with free delivery with plans to offer nationwide delivery soon.

The hopes are that the new online ordering system through their website (www.fordmorefarmshop.co.uk/shop), will allow members of the community who are not able to get out and about or who are not comfortable in doing so, to still be able to enjoy the high-quality offerings from the Fordmore Butcher.

Speaking about their new systems, Tom Harradine, Joint Owner of Fordmore commented “With lockdown restrictions potentially easing in the coming months we know that a high number of people will not feel comfortable with “normal life” resuming and we wanted to provide ways that will allow people to stay safe and still shop from us but from the comfort of their own homes. The pandemic has been a trying time for all small businesses and our community and we want to be able to do everything we can to allow people to still enjoy our produce, hence offering free delivery to the local community. We really hope that this new system will prove popular and be another way of helping get everyone through the ongoing restrictions.”

Fordmore Farm Shop is the diversification by third generation farmers at Fordmore after William and Mary Persey moved to Cullompton in 1942. As their farm continued to grow over the years and the demand for great quality food increased, they decided to open the farm shop, in order to share their knowledge, expertise and passion with everyone, enabling Devon locals and visitors to our great county, to experience the best the West Country has to offer in food and drink. Fordmore Farm Shop has an emphasis on great quality, locally grown food that is reared and baked for us, our local suppliers and our on-site butchers. You can rest assured that we don’t sell or recommend anything we would not want to eat ourselves!
