Apprentice Emma-Jane Howell who works as a full-time Accounts Assistant for HL&W Limited
has been awarded ‘The Apprentice of the Year’ at the Sage Impact Awards 2021, held in partnership with Sage Champions Community.
As an event celebrating the achievements of accountants, bookkeepers and businesses over the past year, deserving people were nominated across eight categories for their outstanding efforts.
Emma-Jane was announced the winner of the apprentice of the year, with the nomination from her team clearly showing what an integral part of the company Emma-Jane has become, and the impact she has on all her colleagues. Her self-motivation, support of others, dedication, and exceptional drive to succeed shone through, and she walked away a much-deserving winner.
In a video awards ceremony presented by Fearne Cotton, Emma-Jane received high praise, with a Sage Impact Reward representative announcing:
“We’d like to wish Emma-Jane Howell a huge congratulations for winning our first ever Sage Impact Award for Apprentice of the Year. These awards are aimed to celebrate those accountants, bookkeepers and businesses that go above and beyond – and we’re thrilled to have Emma-Jane as one of our first winners.
“Emma-Jane’s nomination really stood out for the judges. She clearly has such dedication to her career, to her work and to her colleagues. And the impact that she has had on the practice really came through. Well done, Emma-Jane.”
The award was very much focused on those ‘championing the future of accounting,’ with Emma-Jane Howell showing all the necessary skills. Apprentice accountants have a lot to soak in on a daily basis including financial processes such as accounting principles and concepts, advanced bookkeeping
, final accounts, VAT issues in business, management accounting costing techniques, and ethical practices for accountants.
Susan Page, Business Manager at HL&W added, “Emma-Jane’s nomination by her colleagues shows what a fantastic job she’s doing at our firm. We’re delighted that her hard work was recognised with an official accolade. She has a very bright future ahead of her.”
A big well done goes out to all winners, as well as to HL&W Limited for their successful nomination.
