Press Release: March 03, 2017
Junior Pilot Bursary scheme applications open at Durham City’s Pilot Training Facility for ages 8 to 13.
This week sees Icarus Simulation opening their applications for the third time for the first of two Junior Pilot Bursaries of 2017. From March 1st, aspiring pilots aged 8 to 13 have the opportunity to train just like a real one. The lessons will take place in our state of the art flight simulator in Langley Park which is used to train real pilots. The successful applicant will benefit from four hours of intensive flight training covering the ‘Principles of Flight’ syllabus from our bespoke, Springboard course. Training is delivered by a Commercial Pilot and qualified Flight Instructor and we encourage parents to join in and be a part of the experience. With all training materials provided and 3.5 hours of hands-on simulator flying, this opportunity is highly sought after.
To apply for this opportunity, visit our website to complete the application form and submit it before April 30th, 2017. The successful candidate will be informed in May to start their course from June.
Since opening in August 2015, Icarus Simulation has enjoyed enormous success delivering over 2500 hours of one-to-one training both in the simulator and in the air with training flights flown from Durham Tees Valley Airport. Offering experience lessons to all ages from 8 and over, our full 20-hour courses have become ever more popular with the recent addition of the Bronze Skills Award in conjunction with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. 2017 is shaping up to be a very exciting year with new ventures and ever-increasing popularity across all ages and abilities. Having recently joined both the FSB and North East Chamber of Commerce, Icarus Simulation is already enjoying strong growth in a corporate market which looks set to continue over the coming months.
